About Little Ashdown
Little Ashdown is a recently refurbished olde worlde cottage
constructed of rock and brick with leaded light windows. It looks out over open fields
and the famous Romney Marsh dykes which teem with wildlife to the old sea wall. You can
also see the famous Romney Hythe and Dymchurch Railway engines regularly chugging across
the fields between the cottage and the sea wall!

You enter the cottage via a private gate which leads directly into
your own private courtyard where you can sit and enjoy the tranquility and the birdsong
or just share a bottle of wine. From the courtyard you enter the peace and quiet of the
cottage via an olde worlde open porch and a set of French doors which lead directly into
the lounge of the cottage.

The lounge of the cottage has a wealth of olde worlde beams and an
old brick fireplace. It is fully carpeted and has a modern TV and DVD. The leaded
light window from the lounge faces South and has the benefit of the sun most of the
day with extensive views across open fields to the sea wall in the distance. In the
Summer the lovely song of the skylarks who nest in the adjacent fields comes flowing
in.

The bedroom leads off of the lounge and provides a cosy intimate
area for two. Again it is South facing with the benefit of the sun most of the day and
has the same views across open fields to the sea wall in the distance. There is a
double bed which has a quality mattress which will be made up for your arrival. There
is also a Bose radio/CD player and a hair dryer and the whole area is close carpeted.

There is a small tranquil dining room with table and chairs from where
you can look out of the rear window across the garden and open fields to the old Roman
cliffs in the distance or out of the front window across open farmland to the sea
wall.

The light and airy kitchen comes well equipped with a cooker, hob,
fridge and microwave and all the crockery and cutlery you would need to cater for
yourself during your stay at the cottage.

There is a large fully tiled modern shower room with WC and built in
wash hand basin. The washroom has very efficient electric heating and extractor
facilities.

In addition to the private courtyard which goes with the cottage
you are also most welcome to use the very large rear garden with its garden furniture.
From here you can enjoy the extensive views over the beautiful Romney Marsh. On many
days of the year you can hear the roar of the tigers and lions and the bellowing of
the elephants from the nearby Port Lympne Wildlife Park.
If you are looking for peace and quiet, love wildlife and want some
time to yourself and just switch off then Little Ashdown is ideal for you. The only
noise to disturb your peace and quiet are the resident house martins, sparrows and
wrens who nest every year in the eaves and the shrubs and trees which surround the
cottage.
Little Ashdown has a strict no-smoking policy and because we try to
ensure peace and quiet for all our guests we believe that the cottage is not suitable
